China is tightening the presence of Alibaba group online and in the media industries after Jack Ma criticized the government.
China is Pulling UC browers from the application stores
Starting 16 of March 2021, the Alibaba’s “UC” browser disappeared from Android phones in China. The decision was issued after Chinese TV criticized the browser during its annual consumer rights program; because there are unreliable ads on the browser for medical companies.
The browser is one of the most popular in China and Indonesia, and it is ranked eighth in the list of most downloaded applications, over the past decade.
The Chinese President Xi Jinping warned the country’s largest technology companies of a strong crackdown against them, as a result of their growing influence in the country’s economy.
